I reported a claim and want to check on the status

Claims have traditionally been painfully annoying and slow. At LOOP, we aim to change that! We have a claims partner that help us file and process all of our customer claims. We stay very close to the process so we can help you understand the status.

My car was broken into or vandalized. What now?

If you've been a victim of vandalism or your car was broken into, the first steps you need to take are to document the damage and file a police report. Any personal property you've had stolen from your car will not be covered by your comprehensive policy. You'll need to file a claim under your renters or homeowners insurance policy to receive reimbursement for those items.

What to do in an event your car was broken into or vandalized:

  1. Document the Damage
  2. Make a List of Stolen Items
  3. File a Police Report
  4. Get a Quote and Calculate Whether Filing a Claim Makes Sense

If you've added comprehensive insurance as part of your auto insurance policy, you should be protected from any form of vandalism or car theft. However, comprehensive policies typically come with a deductible that you'll have to pay before the policy kicks in. Because of this deductible, it might make more financial sense to pay for the repairs yourself.

I hit an animal!

Your vehicle may be protected from hitting an animal with comprehensive coverage, included in our "full coverage" package. You can easily verify coverage and start a claim through the Loop app or by calling Customer Service.

What if a tree fell on to my car?

If your car is hit by a tree, your comprehensive insurance should cover it.

However, if the tree is located on someone else's property, you may be able to claim your costs through their home insurance.

Comprehensive also covers

  • Natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and hurricanes
  • Fire
  • Theft of the entire car or parts of it
  • Vandalism

A rock hit my windshield.

Sorry to hear that your vehicle has been damaged! Loop is here to help! Windshield damage is covered if you have full coverage on the vehicle—this falls under the comprehensive coverage portion of the package. All you have to do is file a claim, and we'll take care of the rest!

Someone hit my car and ran off. What do I do?

We're sorry to hear you've been involved in an accident! First thing's first—please make sure everyone is okay, and your vehicle is moved out of the way from traffic!  The next thing you want to do is call 911. We want to make sure anyone who is hurt can get the medical attention they need. You will also be able to start a police report—make sure to give vivid details to the officer. If it's safe, we recommend taking pictures of the scene and damage. You can file your claim by calling in or through the Loop App.

I let my friend or relative drive my car and they got into an accident. What do I do?
